Collards

Eight Collard plants were placed in the outdoor garden. They have been growing in the green house for about a month to establish a good root structure. Spading is two feet in a straight row. Collards can withstand some frost.

Eight purchased collard plants were potted in a large container. They will be kept in the greenhouse until late April or early May, then placed in the outdoor garden. This method means that plants are quite large when outdoor planted, and the root system is well established.
