Carrot seeds are small,are difficult to space, and slow to germinate if precautions are not taken. A spice device from the dollar store with different size opening works well to disperse small seeds. Carrot seeds will not germinate probably above 80 degree F so the board method improves germination considerably. A board is placed over the seeds which prevents seed dispersal if it rains and the shade prevents over heating and drying out of the seeds.If more watering is required enough trickles down if the water is placed on the board.
