This is my method of making whole wheat buns. The quantity is about 12 medium sized buns.
Ingredients:
Three cups whole wheat flour.
Teaspoon of yeast.
Teaspoon of white sugar.
Teaspoon of salt.
1\8 teaspoon of baking powder.
1.25 cups of milk.
Heat milk slightly warm.Combine all the dry ingredients and mix dry. Add milk and knead into a ball. Shape into convenient sized buns. Let rise for an hour then bake at 400F for 20 minutes. The product is a leavened bun of good texture.Very similar to an English muffin.

I usually leave the dough to raise overnight or at least until it doubles in size to allow it to ferment and get sour, then I punch it down and divide into loaves or buns and allow to raise again, but I am going to give it a try to your recipe it seems easy and the buns look yummy.
I’will make them with organic commercial whole wheat flour. Sunny Boy brand, from Camrose AB. I like their products specially the Sunny boy cereal.
