A practical quick fire kit. Cotton balls and a flint striker are the basic requirements, stored in a waterproof container. Once a flame is made it can be enlarged as required.The cotton balls ignite instantly from the flint striker and burn for about two minutes. Sufficient time to ignite kindling material. Practical and efficient in an emergency. A Q tip ignited makes a good hot flame. Also a new type of lighter as purchased from the dollar store is shown. It is vast improvement over Bics and matches and has a torch heat flame.
To start the fire proper throw the cotton ball into a plastic cup and build wood around.
