Nixtamal,the nixtamilized wet corn, need be ground into masa, the dough of which tortillas are made. Home grinders do not grind wet materials either quickly, or efficiently or not at all. After some experimenting, I came up with a simple efficient method of grinding nixtamal to masa by using a hand blender. I happen to have a Bamix, (Made in Switzerland) with a sharp blade which does the job well.Perfect grinding was achieved in approximately five minutes. Pictures depict the method.
